Before I launched the DIY Probate Forms there was a clear gap in the legal services market.
Up until then, consumers had a very limited choice when it came to obtaining probate, which was to:
- Use a solicitor or probate company & pay upwards of £5000 in legal fees. Many people do not want to use a solicitor, as aside from the extortionate cost, they want to carry out their duties as an executor themselves without involving a stranger.
- Do everything themselves without any help. This meant completing all the research, working out who to inform, completing legal paperwork & writing all letters etc without any guidance or support. This isn’t really a satisfactory option as there are a number of things that can go wrong if you don’t know what you are doing. It is also very time consuming and can be a real headache at a time in your life when you already have enough stress and grief to deal with.

Some of these options are completely free of charge, some have a nominal cost, and even if you want us to do all of the form filling for you to apply for probate, I can assure you that our charges are a very small fraction of the amount that a solicitor would charge you.
